The weight of travertine

Why we keep coming back to a stone that is older than every room it sits in. Travertine carries time in its grain - quarried in slabs, honed by hand, and left a little open so the light catches its pores. It is heavy in the way good things are heavy: slow to arrive, impossible to fake, and better for every year it spends in a room.
